Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator Bilingual Mandarin English

The EHS Coordinator is a dedicated on-site safety professional responsible for ensuring workplace safety, occupational health, environmental compliance, and regulatory adherence across plant operations. This role supports compliance with Cal/OSHA, EPA, and California manufacturing regulations, proactively identifies and mitigates risks, and partners with internal teams to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field preferred. Equivalent hands-on EHS experience may substitute for education.
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of EHS experience in U.S. manufacturing (General Industry). Experience in California-based facilities preferred. Ability to travel internationally as needed.
- Certifications:
OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification
Valid California Class C driver’s license with clean driving record
Current CPR/First Aid certification
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct routine compliance audits in accordance with Cal/OSHA, EPA, and local regulations; identify risks and drive corrective actions
- Perform daily safety inspections, equipment checks, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA); oversee high-risk operations
- Lead EHS onboarding and recurring training programs; monitor PPE usage and coordinate occupational health programs
- Manage hazardous materials and hazardous waste in compliance with California Title 22 regulations
Develop and maintain emergency response plans (e.g., fire, chemical spill, injury) and organize regular drills
- Investigate incidents and environmental events; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Maintain EHS documentation and ensure timely regulatory reporting (e.g., emissions, hazardous waste, injury reporting); support inspections and audits
Required Skills
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Cal/OSHA, EPA, and California compliance requirements
Field Execution: Ability to identify and control risks in manufacturing environments (machinery, electrical, fire, noise, chemical exposure, etc.)
- Documentation: Bilingual in English and Mandarin preferred; strong report writing and recordkeeping skills
- Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and audit processes
- Technical Tools: Proficient in Microsoft Office for data tracking and compliance management
Preferred Qualifications
- ASP (Associate Safety Professional) certification or ISO internal auditor credentials
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, precision machining, or mechanical assembly
- Experience supporting Cal/OSHA or EPA inspections
- Fluent Mandarin for bilingual communication and training
